The Transient Chorus

I recall fallen leaves
Crumbling beneath my treads
As the songbirds flourished
In tune with the unkempt wilderness

Roads frayed
At the helm of restless trees
Swaying thoughtlessly
Brimmed with nature’s
Unwavering toll

I was consumed
With every passionate stride
The further I roamed
Determined to be undone

Crumbling leaves
I revert to their soothing chorus
Loosening my grasp
From every present day concern
