Moments reclaim me
And replenish my mind
With the scalding wraith of sorrow
Reborn into distress
I adhere to the movements
The merciless cull
Of past refrains
I retreat
Into the violent throes of boyhood
The menacing toll of schooldays
I yearn to resurface
From the frost-bitten shackles
Of the day’s
I’ve foregone
With determined haste
